    NIGC Gas Urban Plaza International Competition winners announced

    Winners have been announced for the NIGC Gas Urban Plaza International Competition in Tehran, Iran. Hadi Teherani Architect + Eike Becker architekten + Design Core {4s} has been named the winner of the competition, while Emre Arolat Architecture + Meinhardt + Fluid Motion Architects has been selected in second place, Coop HimmelBlau + Koroush Rafiey Architectural Design Studio has been named in third place and 2XM + Bavand has been selected in fourth place.     The international jury composed of World Architecture Community founder and president Suha Ozkan, Benjamin Hossbach, Ian Carl Ritchie, Farhad Ahmadi, Seyed Mohammad Shirazi, Mostafa Behzadfar, Seyed Rasoul MirGhaderi.

    The competition called for proposals for the central office building sitting on an area of 57,870.02sqm. The project site is located west of the Sayad Shirazi Highway and north of the Bathaei (Moghan).

    The proposed building should have included a central office building of the National Iranian Gas Company with 35-40 floors incorporating: offices and its supportive areas such as meeting rooms, conference halls, technical and operational spaces, management restaurant and buffets, libraries and training centres, etc.

    Alongside the main building, the project should have also included the OGEC Convention Hall, a gas museum - illustrating the process of achieving, refining and transmission of gas and tutoring through virtual reality, as well as a gas world trade centre, facilities, sport centre, temporary hospitality for crisis and parking.
