After receiving confirmation that I would be volunteering at the TEDxCapeTown event on 20 July 2013 at the Baxter Theatre, I was bragging about it smugly to all my friends that I encountered, yet no one knew what I was talking about. This got me wondering if they are missing out?

Curated by the team of TEDxCapeTown, the event will consist of 20 speakers, each an amazing person, sharing 20 ideas worth spreading.
Much like how it takes a village to raise a child, it definitely takes an entire community to create a TEDx event.

Hands up if you've heard about TED Global? While most of us have caught onto the phenomenon of TED, and many of us have watched a good few TED Talks too, we may be a bit confused by the various products that TED produces.
By far my most favourite TED Talk is, in fact, a TEDx Talk - x being from an independently organised event from the TED organisation.
Paperight, a South African start-up has won the Digital Minds Innovation Award at the 2013 Digital Minds Conference in London. The showcase was held on Monday night, 15 April, as a precursor event to the London Book Fair.
The line-up for the TEDx after-party has been announced. TEDx is the big ideas conference to be held at the Baxter Theatre on Saturday, 21 July, 2012. This year's theme will be "What We Play Is Life".
