I am a skilled web content writer and blogger with a people-focused outlook. I have four years experience researching, writing and editing well crafted, engaging articles across a range of topics.
At the beginning of 2014 I was offered a job with the Western Cape Government, which switched my focus from writing to social media. It's not a position I would have imagined for myself, but it's proven a definite match for my relationship-oriented personality.

I'm detail driven, old school about the English language and I know what a deadline is. I have an excellent sense of humour and an on-again-off-again relationship with coffee, neither of which will affect my spelling or proper use of grammar and punctuation.

It's not a position I would ever have imagined for myself, but it's proven a definite match for my relationship-oriented personality and I'm enjoying the role immensely.
My passion for minimalism as an all-encompassing lifestyle has also led me to dabble in public speaking (something else I would never have anticipated). To date I've been fortunate enough to wax philosophical on the benefits of living a downsized life at TEDx Cape Town, Creative Mornings, Pecha Kucha and 24 Slides. I'm thinking of branching out into baby showers and hen parties, let me know if you're interested.

Present - Cape Town
Working for the Department of the Premier (e-Government for Citizens), my primary functions are monitoring the Western Cape Government’s brand sentiment online, responding to citizens’ queries on Facebook and Twitter and managing the province’s social media calendar.
Initially the position had its roots planted firmly in client service and that remains an important aspect of my job. However the welcome addition of managing the social media calendar and writing daily posts to my workload has resulted in a role that's varied, interesting, creative and above all, fulfilling. Not a combination one would expect from government, but one I'm especially grateful for nonetheless.
