Newspapers - a bright future?

Every time a new medium arises, many people predict that newspapers will go the way of the dodo. Wrong! Newspapers have adapted and refined themselves to remain relevant. This report relates to the UK experience, but it is largely relevant anywhere there's a newspaper.

Predictions that newspapers will die have been around for years. First the pundits said that radio would cause their demise, and then it was the turn of TV. Now it seems fashionable in some quarters to say that the Internet will achieve what those other media failed to do. Millward Brown UK has been working with the Newspaper Marketing Agency (NMA) to help the UK's newspaper companies to show that they are a major part of the online world.
