Skills Summit set to be biggest ever

The 2014 ArcelorMittal Skills Development Summit on 5-6 August at the CSIR Convention Centre in Pretoria is shaping up to be the signature skills event of the year.
Skills Summit set to be biggest ever

The Summit will see approximately 1000 delegates from a broad cross-section of industry, education, labour law and a host of other fields drawn together at this trailblazing event, which provides a unique networking opportunity and goes to the heart of one of the most crucial areas facing labour in South Africa today.

For the first time, the Summit will be streamed live on the Internet to a huge audience of stakeholders and other interested parties. This is a first for a Summit of this kind and is further evidence of the event's standing in South Africa's skills development debate.

Speakers of the highest calibre - all of them at the coalface of skills development in South Africa - will address the Summit. These include Deputy Minister of Communications, Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, Deputy Director General, Economic Impact & Policy Alignment, Ntsiki Mbona and Miller Matola, CEO of Brand South Africa.

The Summit will focus on a number of key areas, including innovation and technology, artisan development, skills development in the workplace and professionalising the public sector.

The event has proved over the past six years to be an essential information gathering and networking platform. Indeed, no other event on the calendar attracts the quality and range of skills experts as this seminal gathering.
