Election TV ads too costly - SABC

NEWSWATCH: While the SABC is more than willing to support free “party election broadcasts (PEBs)” on radio, it is opposing the flighting of political party adverts on TV as it will result in over R90 million worth of lost ad revenue. According to various media reports, this was heard at the public hearings held yesterday, Monday, 6 October 2008, by ICASA regarding draft regulations on the coverage of elections by broadcasters.
