Rob Smuts voted 2005 Jo'burg AMASA chairman

The newly elected 2005 AMASA Committee voted Rob Smuts, Managing Director of RMS Media, as the Johannesburg Chairman of the Advertising Media Association of South Africa (AMASA). Apart from managing RMS Media successfully for the past 12 years, Smuts is a respected media strategist, media lecturer and awards judge.

His involvement with the AMASA Committee spans the past three years where he has had critical involvement in uplifting the organisation at a time when education and skills transfer are of the utmost importance to the South African advertising and media industries.

Commenting on his appointment, Smuts said, "Being part of the committee is in itself an honour. I look forward to serving AMASA to the best of my ability, steering the organisation to ongoing success in our dynamic industry. My new role promises to be exciting, challenging, and demanding, but I'm pleased to have the dependable support of a strong committee who no doubt will all contribute to AMASA's continued success."

Designated to serve as Johannesburg vice chairman is Kevin Kirby, Group Marketing Manager of ComutaNet.
