PRISM Awards announce judges, get new sponsor

Following over 200 entries for the 2012 PRISM Awards, PRISA has selected four juries to judge the awards programme. The awards have also received a new sponsor, newly established media analysis and research company, Pear Factor.

The judging process, which began last week in Johannesburg, has the highest number of PRISM judges, 20, who will judge the 31 categories, according to their expertise. The categories include eight new ones, predominantly focussing on digital and social media, as well as research. Following the category selections, the judges come together to select the gold winners and overall winner from across all categories.

The three chief judges are Marilyn Watson, CEO of Cinnamon Public Relations; Daniel Munslow, director at Talk2Us; and Hayley Kuhn, communication manager from Sanlam.

Munslow says, "We are excited about our judging panels and feel grateful to have such leading professionals in the communication community supporting the awards. I wish them luck with the judging and congratulate the entrants, who will have the opportunity to be scrutinised by some of the best names in the industry."

Winners will be announced at a gala event at The Hyatt Regency Hotel Rosebank on Sunday 25 March 2012 from 4pm, with the results on its media partner's website, www.bizcommunity.com, in the special public relations supplement of AdVantage Magazine and national, regional and other trade media.

New sponsor

Pear Factor is sponsoring the Digital Media Relations award, a new category in this year's awards.
