Indoorsy activities

As the night falls quicker and longer, one needs to be entertained in a more indoorsy manner. Good food, theatre and movies trump the top of my colder month to-do-list. Luckily, there is never a shortage of indoor activities to choose from this time of year. The king of crude comedy Jimmy Carr may have been and gone but no fear, there are many more comedy, theatre and movie fests and options to come. Swan Lake opens at the Artscape Theatre this Saturday and the creepy X Fest Film Festival returns to Cape Town for the seventh time tomorrow.

On the eating, drinking and being merry side of things, the Taste of Cape Town fires up this evening at the Greenpoint Cricket Club, and the official swish Le Dîner en Blanc International launches in Cape Town on Saturday. In other foodie news, Eugene Yiga reviews the trendy Manna Epicure restaurant in Kloof Street.

And just in case you were thinking we were being a little too CT-centric, we have two Gauteng competitions running this week; two tickets to the Haezer Live Show at Arcade Empire in Pretoria and the SA Sweet and Snack Expo at the Coca-Cola Dome, are up for grabs!
