Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AMONG OTHER MAY INCLUDE     
  • Handle the full bookkeeping function for legal practises clients
  • Ensure that the information uploaded on their cloud-based accounting software.
  • Ensure that the information has been allocated correctly and make the necessary adjustments. 
  • Prepare VAT reconciliations
  • Handle all the invoicing for clients
  • Compile supply reconciliations at month end for clients
  • Prepare income statement from the bank statement
  • Ensure that the client is well informed with regards to deadlines being met
  • Processing and submission of VAT and PAYE

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Matric
  • Relevant Bookkeeping Qualification
  • Own reliable Vehicle and valid Driver's License is Essential


Company Description

A well establish, very progressive, young and fast growing accounting practise who work predominantly on cloud-based accounting software, has an exciting position available for a qualified Bookkeeper with working experience in legal environment. This position requires the incumbent to travel to the client’s offices (different clients each day) who are based in the Johannesburg area and will be required to report to the company offices based in Centurion once a week.

Requirements

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED  
  • Minimum of 3 years Bookkeeping experience working in a Legal environment with a proven track record in a similar position
  • Tax background 
  • Experience working with Lexpro, Ghost Practice, Drive Revenue and AJS legal accounting system would be an advantage (Training will be provided)
  • Working experience with SAGE 1, QuickBooks online, Zero and Simplepay - experience in one or more would be ideal
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and record keeping skills.
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Highly computer literate (technology savvy) and a good general understanding of Accounting Software.
  • Fluent if both English and Afrikaans
