    Robben Island strike ends

Workers employed by the Robben Island Museum have called off their strike without their demands being met according to The Cape Times. It says that after a three-hour meeting at the Nelson Mandela Gateway, workers unanimously agreed to end the strike.

According to Dede Ntsoelengoe, National Education, Health and Allied Workers chairman, as reported in The Cape Times article, workers will pursue the issues raised prior to the strike with management. He says the workers agreed to end the strike once they realised that the Museum needed to make money in order to meet their demands.

Tours to the island have continued to operate successfully throughout the strike.
