Do you use Google to research people that you plan to employ?
One thing that I do is look up companies that I am either going to do some work for or if I am going for a job interview with them. I was just not sure if it work the other way round or do they take your CV at face value and a bit of work you have done on a CD.

I can only speak from my side but I have left my mark in the Google search in more ways then one, and you can learn a lot about me just by putting my name in the Google search box. Try it - put my name, “Lantz Mattinson”, in the box and you can paint your own picture about me. You will see that I like fishing, I have written something for Bizcommunity.com and I have a personal website called AFROmedia. After you have done that try look up a friend. I do this so I can get more exposure. The more people can see what I do and that I am not a fly-by-night the better chance I stand getting the job. Now we just wait and see if my traffic tickets and jail time will show up.
