The South African Post Office will be hosting a free kids Christmas card workshop at the V&A Waterfront on Saturday, 8 December 2012, from 1.30-4.30pm. Kids will have the opportunity to create their own Christmas cards and post Santa their Christmas wish lists, which will be sent to the North Pole.
Children will make their cards using an assortment of creative tools, stickers, pens and paper. They will then be taught how to address and post their letters, something many children of this generation have not experienced.
"We are allowing children to use their imagination and express their creativity in letter writing," said Martie Gilchrist, regional communication manager of the SA Post Office.
The festive season has always been a busy period at the Post Office with thousands of children still writing to Santa sending him their Christmas wish lists. This activation forms part of a broader initiative by the SA Post Office to promote letter writing and encourage children to put pen to paper.
"We are looking forward to getting insight into the most popular gifts on children's wish lists," concluded Gilchrist.
