AppCircus@Mobile Web Africa will be taking place in Johannesburg on 11 September in conjunction with the region's leading mobile industry event: Mobile Web Africa. The competition is sponsored by Intel and will gather together the region's top mobile developers to showcase their latest app creations.
As noted by Carles Ferreiro, CEO of AppCircus, South Africa has experienced "significant activity in the technology sector in recent years". To promote it, AppCircus@Mobile Web Africa "sets out to help foster a dialogue between app developers, the mobile industry and beyond so that the world of applications continues to offer great solutions to real-life problems as well as providing valuable professional and business opportunities".
10 developer entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to pitch their app live on stage in front of a jury of mobile industry experts. The winning app will receive the following prizes provided by Intel:
A return flight to Barcelona for Mobile World Congress 2015
A three-day visitor pass to Mobile World Congress 2015
A presentation slot at the Mobile Premier Awards 2015, the largest cross-platform app showcase in the mobile industry and an important point of reference for the startup and app community during Mobile World Congress
AppCircus brings together the global community of app makers through its events and online incubation platform. In only three years, AppCircus has organised more than 100 events in over 30 countries, building a community with over 20,000 users.
