The Jupiter Drawing Room (Johannesburg) has indeed lost Edcon's Boardmans and Red Square to Ireland/Davenport, it was confirmed today, Thursday, 22 March 2012.
Comments Edcon Department Stores marketing executive Belinda Godfrey, "Ireland/Davenport has demonstrated its outstanding strategic and creative capabilities to us and we look forward to partnering on the communications for Boardmans and Red Square for the ultimate benefit of our customers."

According to Ireland/Davenport MD Susan Napier, the agency is thrilled with the appointment for two brands of such stature, as well as the opportunity to work with Edcon - an ambition of the agency. "We are so proud and honoured to have been awarded these two amazing brands. We are in a new era of retail marketing where it is about connecting with shoppers as people, rather than consumers," she says.

The Independent Agency Search & Selection (IAS) company facilitated the tender process for the new communications and advertising partner on behalf of Boardmans and Red Square.

Edcon is a leading clothing, footwear and textiles (CFT) retailing group in southern Africa, with 10 retail brands trading in over 1200 stores in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland, Lesotho and Zambia.

Well done Ireland/Davenport.

To TJDR - don't poke fun at other agencies when accounts are moved your way - sore losers. Posted on 22 Mar 2012 15:40
