The formal return of Revin John

13 Aug 2009 14:2713 commentsBizLike
As of 31 August 2009, the afternoon drive on 94.7 Highveld Stereo will be presented by Revin John, replacing Alex Jay who will move to the mid-morning slot, and Mark Pilgrim will return to his weekend shows, the radio station announced early this afternoon, Thursday 13 August.

Revin John takes over the afternoon drive.

Alex Jay moves to the mid-morning slot.
John previously anchored the Top8@8 show on 94.7 and following a stint overseas, returned to the station as a freelancer earlier this year. He will be joined by current afternoon drive news, traffic and sports reporters, Lebogang Nthate, Bailey Schneider and Derek Alberts.

Pilgrim has been temporarily anchoring the mid-morning slot since the departure of Kenny Maistry to Metro FM end of March this year. His regular shows are the Nokia Take 40 SA countdown on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm and the same time slot on Sundays.

WELCOME BACK REVIN-
What fantastic news this is! So pleased Revin is back on Highveld permanently... it's been pretty dull without him! Time to bring all that international experience to the SA airwaves and teach the locals how it's done hey! Have fun Revin... we've missed you! Posted on 13 Aug 2009 17:50
That sucks-
This moron is BACK?oh hell... Posted on 14 Aug 2009 13:57
pathetic-
Overseas experience?????!!!!! The guy was in Dubai, for Chrissake's,
the armpit of the world. AND he failed there...! They kicked him out.
He's rude, thoroughly unrefined and intellectually barren.
Is someone intent on dumbing down that station...? Posted on 14 Aug 2009 15:51
dumbing down the station?-

Where's the NEW local talent-
Highveld have been searching for new talent for ages, even giving people in shopping centres the chance to try out. One or two get on air and then... what happens? Revin has already had a chance. Where's the next gen of radio presenters? Highveld and other have a duty to create platforms and opportunities for new talented people. Is Revin being positioned to replace Mansfield when he leaves Highveld? Posted on 17 Aug 2009 11:20
