New media monitoring service launched

Intranews Media Management aims to provide the client with an efficient and intelligent media monitoring solution that is tailored to each client's specific needs. Combining an intelligent network of experienced staff with advanced information technology, Intranews brings a fresh approach to the media monitoring sector, with variable cost-effective solutions for constantly dynamic PR requirements.

Intranews is the brainchild of Jane Duminy and Greg Forsythe, both previously of Monitoring South Africa and Mediawatch in South Africa, and Tellex Monitors and the Broadcast Monitoring Company in London.

"By bringing together under one umbrella the expertise of specialists in the press and internet monitoring sectors, we are able to minimize overheads, which savings are passed on to the client," the Intranews team commented.

1. Broadcast Monitoring: Intranews offers effective monitoring of TV and radio broadcast material, notifying clients by phone, SMS, email or in summary form of relevant breaking news, with the option to purchase ad-hoc tapes, CD's or transcripts. A contracted summary service will provide twice-daily updates of broadcast information on the main TV and radio stations in the country and is priced at a set monthly rate.

2. Press Options: Responding to demand for flexibility, Intranews has developed a unique data management system, called 'Press Here', that allows the end–user to create and manage their own on-line press database. Regardless of the source of the cuttings, they can be scanned and posted to the client's own intranet site which will be fully searchable and owned by the client. For the first time, the client is empowered to own and control their own information and is not bound by time limitations due to insufficient bandwidth.
