Following a rigorous procurement process that began in November 2011, Telkom
announced late last week the appointment of MediaCom
, as its new media strategy, buying and planning agency for the next three years.
"The appointment is in line with our medium to long term strategy to achieve the right levels of awareness, impact and strategic coherence in our media investment as we pursue our business objectives," said Manelisa Mavuso, Telkom's MD, Consumer Division. "This sees us consolidate all our media strategy planning and buying with one agency across all our customer-facing units, including 8ta."
The purpose of the media agency is to ensure that through media and general presence Telkom messages reach the desired target market effectively and efficiently to ensure that the underlying business and positioning communication objectives are met.
In executing this responsibility, the agency will work with the client's through-the-line advertising agencies to ensure optimal alignment of all communication activities.
