Radio showsSpecial sectionsRelated sectorsIn the news | Media news Another Malawian journo joins MISABarely three weeks after the chairperson of the Malawi chapter of the Media Institute of Southern Africa has (MISA-Malawi) been elected chairperson of the MISA Regional Governing Council, another Malawian, Times Group general manager, Dr. Tikhala Chibwana has been appointed as a trustee for the MISA Trust Fund Board (TFB).
Kasunda who is also Chairperson of MISA-Malawi says the local chapter will work with him closely in advancing the ideologies of MISA and ensuring that the body achieves media freedom and freedom of expression. "He is a man with good credentials for the position and we have confidence that he will contribute greatly to the well-being of MISA," Kasunda is quoted as saying. "The media in Malawi should be proud that for the first time, it has produced the chairperson for the Regional Governing Council and a TFB member, which are the two highest positions in MISAleadership," added Kasunda. Chibwana honoured Chibwana said it is a great honour and privilege for him to be appointed a Trustee for the MISA Regional Board. "This is a familiar territory as I have worked in trusts for over dozen years and have served as chairman for Finance and Administration committees in a number of boards where I do sit. I believe that the experience I have gained over the years would prove handy in this appointment," Chibwana said. He also stated that he will be glad to serve on the board as he holds a great passion for the media.
