Mr Li Jinyuan, chairman of the Tiens Group in Tianjin, China, returns to South Africa next week to hand over his sixth substantial donation to Ikageng Itireleng Aids Ministry, a Soweto based charity for orphaned and vulnerable children. In addition, at a press conference and charity dinner, he will hand over US $20 000 to a yet unnamed local charity, as the group continues to increase its support of its locally based enterprise, which opened in 2010 in Randburg.

Li, a native of Cangzhou in Hebei Province, is an active philanthropist and through his group, has contributed in excess of US $240 million to various charities in both China and Africa.

He founded the group in 1995, which today has more than 8000 employees in industries including biotech, education, retail and tourism in more than 190 countries.
