Compose a winning song for Bafana

The SABC, official broadcaster of the FIFA 2010 World Cup, invites fellow South Africans to write a song in support of Bafana Bafana that will inspire the team to great heights and become the anthem of a nation on the brink of greatness.

All SABC platforms, both radio and television have committed to supporting this initiative, which has opened for entries and closes at midnight on 2 April 2010.

Entries may be in any official language and will be evaluated by a panel of music compilers and music managers from different SABC radio stations and TV channels, to narrow down the entries to five finalists. Music-playing SABC radio stations, as well suitable television programme, will play and rotate all five songs equally. Listeners and viewers will vote for their favourite song to become the official song for Bafana during the FIFA 2010 World Cup and beyond.

Competition details

Radio promo will direct listeners to SMS the word Bafana to 34022;
Return messages will provide details of how to enter the competition (eg the process of recording a song);
SABC will make available terms & conditions of entry as well as associated disclaimer via the return message and its Website.
