In total, 636 entries from over 35 countries were recognised with awards across In-Book, Nominations and Yellow Pencils this year full list of winners.
Results by country
In the southern hemisphere, entries from South Africa (29 awards, of which four gained Yellow Pencils), from Australia (31 awards, of which three were given Yellow Pencils), Brazil (26 awards, of which two gained Yellow Pencils) and New Zealand (nine awards and one Yellow Pencil) also did well at this year's awards.
Work from the UK had a strong show at this year's event, with UK entries scooping 198 awards in total (of which 21 were Yellow Pencils). Work from the US also did well, as entries gained 103 awards in total (of which 11 were Yellow Pencils).
However, European nations performed well, with France leading the way with 30 awards overall, of which seven were Yellow Pencils. Germany also had a strong year with 34 awards overall (although none of the entries were felt to have earned the top award). The Netherlands also performed strongly, with nine awarded pieces of work, 22 of which gained Yellow Pencils.
Work from Japan 32 awards overall (four Yellow Pencils) and China (with four Yellow Pencils among 11 recognised pieces of work) led a strong year for Asian entries.

Film Craft was the category where the greatest number of Yellow Pencils were awarded, with the jury recognising 15 entrants with Yellow Pencils. The Digital Design jury also felt that the sector had a strong year, awarding seven Yellow Pencils in the category. The juries for Digital Advertising and Radio Advertising each awarded four Yellow Pencils to work in their categories.
Conversely, the juries in the Photography, Typography, Writing for Advertising and Writing for Design categories did not award any Yellow Pencils this year.
The most-awarded categories overall (across In-Book, Nominated and Yellow Pencil work) were Film Craft (104 awards), Graphic Design (60 awards), TV & Cinema Advertising (43 awards) and Outdoor Advertising (35 awards). Direct (33 awards) and Illustration (29 awards) also had a strong show at D&AD's fiftieth awards event.
