Pop-up foodie events

With the advance of winter, so too usually advances great food and wine events and we're all about the great upcoming foodie festivals and events this newsletter. This weekend sees the return of the Elgin Cool Wine and Country Festival, while the Riebeeck Valley Olive Festival touches down at Riebeek Kasteel. Movie nights and pop-up dinners return to Steenberg on 8 May and in Joburg Michelin Star award-winning chef Jean-Christophe Novelli will open a pop-up restaurant, The Art of 8 on 6 May.

In other news, the 2014 SAMA winners are announced, congrats to all! And the first international musicians are announced for the I Heart Joburg Music Festival. Eugene Yiga reviews sushi stalwart Beluga, while Brian Berkman spends a night on the fifth floor duplex penthouse at the Bantry Bay Suite Hotel.

In line with the foodie trend, new competition this week is the chance to win two tickets to the Hops Harvest Festival at the Wild Clover Farm in Stellenbosch!

Eat, drink and be merry!
