On the horns of a dilemma

There are many measures the average South African would like to take to those poaching our rhinos in order to feed what most of us reckon is a pathetically primitive belief. Those measures might often include a quiet word with those found guilty with the aid of a baseball bat in a deserted building far, far away. That's all terribly illegal of course. However, one idea has seen a lot of support, and
poisoning rhino horn seems to be on the cards, but Helen Dagut asks, while it might be ethically defendable, is it legally questionable?
Still on the crime front, the FBI has listed South Africa as the sixth most active country where cyber crime takes place. No wonder then that a local law firm says
cyber crime is now a national crisis.
And on the legal front, Judge Albert Louis Sachs, the prominent anti-apartheid campaigner who was appointed by Nelson Mandela to sit on the Constitutional Court, has received a major award at the inaugural
African Legal Awards.
Feel like a career in the arts? If so,
applications are now open for the BASA intern programme.
All aboard-d-d-d-d... It's a case of
three cheers for an extended Gautrain - but don't expect to enjoy the extended service any time soon, it will probably take a few years before you and your mates can occupy "three chairs" on the extended Gautrain.
