Appointed HOD Academics for College Campus, Eugene also lectured at universities in Gauteng.
While lecturing, Eugene noted the need to "bridge the skills gap" between businesses and education in South Africa and became aware of the lack of meaningful career guidance available for learners.
In 2007, he approached the Department of Education with his concept for "OurfutureSA" - "local industry related, knowledge, skills and values" - Indigenous Integrated Imfundo (Education).
This was accepted in 2008 and Uptown Consulting has been working on the project and in the field of youth development since that point.
Specialising in Asset Management at the Mid-Rand University, he now also provides businesses with Fixed Asset & Stock Audit and Management solutions.
