Charlotte Lavine, is a partner in BDG Communications and thoroughly enjoys presenting workshops from how to Face the Media and a series of other pertinent persuasive communication skills. She has extensive experience in broadcasting - both behind the mike and in front of the camera, as well as in training aspirant broadcasters and interviewers.

'The spoken and written word creates a vivid reality of who we are and how we want the world to see us,' she says. 'But we are often prevented from expressing our true selves. This happens throughout childhood as we are socialised to conform to certain cultures and the expectations of preferable behaviour based on gender.' To communicate effectively in today's world requires common sense, savvy, knowledge and most importantly verbal acuity.'

Accordingly Charlotte has produced and delivered unique workshops focusing on communication skills for over fourteen years. These outstanding workshops include Presentation Skills; Negotiation Skills; Conflict Resolution; and Positive Assertiveness Skills using a very experiential approach to the topics. They actively address individual needs as well as departmental issues and have met with great success in both the private and Government sectors. She has also trained in various parts of Africa for International clients.

In August 2007 Charlotte launched a series of six-three-hour workshops. Titled, 'Your Persuasive Power & Presence' the course is aimed at aspiring career women who wish to attain excellent verbal skills, personal assertiveness and the ability to manage difficult people and situations successfully and with grace. This workshop was developed over a long period and it has always been her dream that every woman would find her special place in the world.

Her training portfolio encompasses major communication skills training ranging through Presentation Skills - using television techniques; Conflict Resolution; Mediation, Negotiation Skills, Positive Assertiveness Skills, Personal Awareness and Gender Sensitisation. She thrives equally in group training sessions and in one-on-one coaching and mentoring consultations.
