Para-Olympic, Jan Nehro needs sponsors to be able to compete in the 2012 para-Olympics in London.
Jan Nehro is putting South Africa in the lime light. He's a blind para Olympic athlete who has run 7 Comrades Marathons, many without a guide- setting his pace alongside the able bodied competitors with just the sound of their steps to follow. In 2011, Jan competed in the IPC World Championships in New Zealand placing a sixth which places him seventh in the World rankings.
Considering this talented man has no formal training, coach, financial support (other than a local fund raiser selling hand and picnic bags), specially designed diets and proper equipment. It's clear that this achievement is anything short of a miracle. Just imagine the possibilities if he had some form of help?
Jan met his guide, Duane Fortuin, in 2003 and the pair have trained together ever since. They live miles apart and often can't afford the transportation costs of getting together to train, but somehow they still do and Jan Nehro has now been personally chosen for this years 2012 para-Olympics in London.
To compete and train at this level you need a lot of specific sport science input such as physiotherapy, biokenetics, gym training, supplements, an advanced nutritional plan and training gear. SASCOC (the National Federation) will not financially support an athlete unless they are ranked in the top four internationally. Jan is willing to have you use his name and face for any publicity you see fit as it could benefit both him and you. We are asking you to consider helping this blind athlete with any financial assistance or sponsorship as the 2012 para Olympics are nearly upon us.
