Primedia leading by example

In the spirit of Lead SA, Primedia Broadcasting held an end-of-year function with a difference as staff packed 50 000 meals intended for hungry families. Approximately 500 staff members across Cape Town and Johannesburg spent their afternoon in a massive production line, packing nutritionally balanced meal packs. Stop Hunger Now, an international organisation, has developed dry meal packs that each feed 6-8 people. The meal packs are distributed via schools, thereby encouraging children to come to school, to learn, and to get the nutrition they need to develop their minds and bodies. The event was planned to mark World Food Day on Sunday, 16 October 2011, and 567 CapeTalk's Africa Melane broadcast his show, related to this theme, from the venue. In Cape Town the meal packs will be distributed to Sikhule Sonke, which has been identified by Primedia Broadcasting as the beneficiariey for their packing session.
