Don't fall for this scam!

Has anyone been called by a guy by the name oscar or a few other ladies insisting that you won one of 5 prizes one being a R50 000 cash prize and all you have to do is go their offices at a certain time and watch a video and then do the draw. Don't fall for this, many have already so beware.

Landie	Survey Scam?- I just received a call from Shany 074 811-9370 to collect one of 5 prices tomorrow at Kyalami business park. R50 000 cash, Quad bike, 42" plasma, Laptop or 10 nights free accommodation anywhere in SA. I did complete a survey form which she confirmed. 	Yes it is a scam- After you've seen the 40 minute presentation, then you get taken to another tossers desk who then wants to convince you to buy a Holiday Club package worth R25K. You then get to the prize drawing which you have to draw 7 balls with numbers on them in sequence in order to be the winner of the 1st prize. Which you don't even know if all the balls with numbers are even there. As a consolation prize they give you a 10 Days Holiday that you have to either pay breakfast at ridiculous prices or something else in order to enjoy the benefit of the prize. They are now even going under the name NAS / PBS / Rhinomarketing and I'm sure they will try another name soon. Posted on 4 Dec 2008 13:37 Like Reply Report

	Another call this is crazy- I got a call from a Jaco 0784952314 that also said the same crap. Well i got the fax NAS or New Age Solutions as he called them in where no other than 87A, Silverstone Crescent, Kyalami Business Park, kyalami. Fruit and veg!!- I cant believe this... im situated in the eastern cape.... firstly i was told by some incoherent illiterarate imbisil called Queen or Quin.... who said that i can choose one of the 4 prizes.. The winnings of a Fruit and Veg competition in Montana.. When i asked when i entered it they said the 9th of July 09. What really thru me was that they had MY name and MY tel nr..but wrong "other details" So here i was assuming someone i dont know was so nice to enter me into a freakin competition.You know... collecting this major prize is rather a problematic matter so im organising my poor friend to drive the same distance as Jbay to PE to please go and collect it for me..... this is after i phoned back and Linda informed me that its no problem, no scam.. no selling gimmick.. in fact he said leave your wallet at home you are guaranteed to walk out with one of the prizes...thank goodness i had the literate savvy to google "New Age Solutions" and yes.. their addres is NAS building.. 87 kayalami Business Park.. Marianne	NAS fruit and veg survey competition scam- They are at it again. I just got a congratulations letter faxed from a Shaun, cell 078-2750288, tel 011-4669915, asking me to come to a 40 minutes preview (to 87A, Silverstone Crescent, Kyalami Business Park), WITH MY SPOUSE, where he confirmed with me that I am single... Needless to say they will probably want to sell timeshare again. If he does phone back to confirm if I want to come, I will first give him a quote on how much my fuel costs will be, then my time that I will have to waste, and he will have to accept that quote for wasting my time with a non-refundable deposit! WillieL	Also a call from NAS- They are now called NAS (they had different names in the past). Also same story and prices. Asked them to fax me the page I apparently filled in for the competition, but they faxed me the congrats invite instead. Skelm. If you are sensitive in spirit, you can immediately pick them up... something doesn't feel right. I wish they could be reported and closed down. 	New year same story- i just got a call for Nelson, from guess where, NAS telling me to come throught to, Thats right, 87 Silverstone crescent, Kyalami business park, knowing that is was timeshare, i specifically asked him, is this time share or amything to do with holidaying, the a$$ blatently lies to my face and says, no sir absolutely nothing to do with timeshare or holidays. prizes are now R75 000, TV, Etc etc Anyway wont be going but just to let you guys know, that up to their old tricks again. They want me to attend a prize giving draw tomorrow in Rosebank (158 Jan Smuts Ave). Apparently I won one of 5 prizes:. Sony Bravia LCD TV, R75 000 home makeover, Holiday for 2 to Cape Town or a GPS worth R 8000. I have a feeling they want me to join a Pyramid Scheme of some sort. I'm not going. When first called me he got my details wrong, he said he will call back after asking a couple of questions (gave him wrong details). Rashad	Rhino Solutions- My father just recieved a call from a Shiela claiming the 5 prizes, she even faxed through a document listing the prizes but thats it. Says him and my mother need to go through to Kyalami and sit through a 40 minute presentation before the prizes are handed out. Michael from Rhino Solutions phoned again, my girlfriend told him we were not intersted in the timeshare scam. he said it was not a scam and had nothing to do with timeshares! Told him we were busy and he must phone back tomorrow.... tomorrow i should record the call with him promising it is not a scam and that it has nothing to do with timeshares and then go see.... and if it is... then the recording comes into play.... 	SCAM ? TIMESHARE ? - Why do you need your Wife to accompany you when you collect your prize- Had a call earlier today from Gift, same cell number, same street address, same prizes, but company has another name added to their list of NAS. Would be great to know if anyone has been to the presentation, so that we can warn others if it is what everyone thinks it is. Only sanity I can apply to this kind of marketing is unless you can remember the competition you entered and they are not calling from that specific competition, don’t go. Cam	NAS - 87 Silverstone Crescent- I also received a call today, saying i've won one of the 5 prizes. Need to come to the office today at 17:00. Suspected it was a holiday/timeshare etc thing. I don't want to go and sit through a presentation that I don't want anyway. Why don't they just say: "Come to our presentation and get a free holiday!" Why the whole 'congratulations' business, and when you ask if it is holiday/timeshare they lie to you? I even got the fax and the follow-up call. I think we should find a good lawyer to go to the presention and then ask them a few questions on the merits of their operation. Or have them audited. I'm sure some law is being violated, I just don't know which one. Holiday club is a fine business, but this whole "catch and reel in" business is something out of the seventies. CAM	Fax to NAS- After the last phonecall I sent them a fax of +- 20 pages saying that I won't be coming and the following pages are why. The pages included articles and comments I found on the internet concerning Holiday club, Rhino business solutions, PBC etc etc. Also I asked them to remove my name and number from their database. He told me to come to Kyalami business park (87 Silverstone Crescent) at either 15:30 or 17:00 and it would only take 40 minutes of my time... pearl	scam- I got a few calls from Dennis and Simon telling me i won one of 5 prizes (plasma tv, quad bike, R50 000, laptop and 10 accomodation in SA) that was yesterday (2009/04/07). I was called again today i told them i left the fax at home and they sent another one of which the prizes include a home make over of R75 000. But wait Yesterday i was told to bring my id only, today they don't need my id only my tv license. They also told me that there was a bonus prize....a trip to spain. 	Scam?- Was called today and the same prizes as above was mentioned. I talked to TK and he asked me to lie about my age as they misread my age as 30. I don't need to bring an ID. John Wayne	NAS Scam TODAY- I've also been called this morning about one of the five rewarding prices I've won in a competition. 42" plasma, R75000 home makeover, R50000 cash or 10 nights accomodation. As I was cought (met 'n slap riem) previously in such a matter by a company called "The Explorer Academy" who sells a life-style membership to you for ~R500 per month promising you all sorts of benefits which, of cause were not that great at all. I lost R4000 and at last got out of the situation with a big fight. The prises were also drawn with balls that have numbers on them which you nedded to predict. I walked out there with 10 nights accomodation but, I needed to pay a registration fee!! NOT SO GREAT! When I got the call from NAS this morning I asked the guy that called me if it is time-share or something like the "Explorer Academy". He knew exactly what & who the Explorer Academy is all about but insisted that it is nothing similar to that and not time-share. He then told me to come to Kayalami at 18:30 to come and collect my prises but I need to be there for ~40minutes for them to hand over the prises. HAHAHA! Jets	NAS SCAM- I also received a call this afternoon about winning the prize: R75 000 Home makeover, Plasma Screen and Holiday. The guy's mistake was that I enetered the draw last year, yet the phone number that I have is from January 2009. I have been a victim of many scams before hence the skepticism which forced me to google the company before going. 	NAS- A friend of mine at work received a call from "Romeo" of NAS informing her that she had become eligible for a number of prizes namely, Home makeover R75000, Holiday Accomodation, Plasma tv or R50000 cash. I told her this was a timeshare scheme. She received a confirmation sms and a followup call to confirm the meeting. Romeo told her that, to qualify for for the prizes and when confirming her details with them, she HAD to specify that her salary was over R25 000 or she would not be able to win the prizes and he could lose his job. She told him that her salary was less than that, and he made every effort to try to accommodate her. We knew by now this was a scam and tried to lead them on a bit. Liana Prinsloo	The Scam entails the following:- I actually went to one of these evenings in Pretoria opposit Menlyn: You get greeted and taken into a room where a guy gives a (very convincing) powerpoint on the Holiday Club and what they offer etc. Then you get taken into a office where the different packages (starting at oround R30 000) are explained to you. Then, after they realised you are really not interested, they give you a bag full of pingpong balls, asking you to pull a few out for the various prizes. If you get the 7 correct numbers IN THE CORRECT SEQUENCE you apparently win the R50 000, 6 in the correct sequence the flat screen and so-on. I.e the lotto is easier. Then they hand you a vacation prize where you must register for R700 and can then redeem vacation accomodation at certain places in SA (out of season, have to pay for all your meals etc). So, 'scam' is perhaps a strong word, but this is a low form of marketing (albeit successful), so if you are not interested, dont waste your time and petrol. sumayya dawjee	NAS scam- I was also scammed in jan this year. They called and said I had entered a competition at Pick n Pay. I was told I won 1 of those 5 prizes and must come with my husband to draw for it. When I asked if it had anything to do with timeshare he flat out lied and said no!I even told him that i was booking a flight and he must confirm that it had nothing to with time-share and he confirmed it. I was in Port Shepstone at the time and booked a flight especially to claim my prize. It was also at the Kylami business park. It is almost impossible to win anything except a stupid holiday. Di	NAS- Thank God for the sense to google these people before even going there. They are crooks judging from all the comments people have made about them. They tried convincing me to attend their meeting and sending me directions saying i was guaranteed winning one of 5 prizes, a home makeover for R75 000 or a 42 inch plasma tv, or a holiday for 6 to Cape Town or a navigation system or beauty and holiday vouchers. 	NAS Competition- I received a call from Gift today stating that I definitely won one of 4 prizes, as mentioned in previous comments. I had to go to the address in Kyalami with my husband - and would have had to take my three kids along! He said we would do the prize draw and then have the presentation - in by 5pm and out by 5:40! I was told countless times that I would definitely win one of the 4 prizes, and that I could even choose which one. I also received various confirmations and a reference number - it was the same as another number mentioned by someone. In the end we did not manage to go, and I googled it. I do not want to sit through lengthy talks and then have to line up some balls. So my excitement for my R75 000 home makeover was shortlived. . . It is alarming that people can be so deceiving. He gave this reference number G8778-12 to collect my prize today, told him I am not able to, he said I can come tomorrow at 18h30 and he assures me it is not a scam!!!!! 	I was also contacted by gift this morning- I was phoned by a guy called Gift. he said i won a plasma screen worth R42 000, a holiday in Cape Town for two and a home make over to the value of R72 000. a few weeks a go there was a guy outside Pick n Pay close to my home, who insisted that i complete a form which will be put in a lucky draw. when i asked why i must complete, he said its complementary, just for shoping at Pick n Pay. I gave him the wrong details but the correct cell number. thanks to google as well otherwise i would have wasted my petrol(money) and time going to Kyalami. This is TOO Much! Almost scammed	Close one- I got a call from Elias 078 804 70 64 saying I won a Prize of either, Home make over of R75000, 42' plasma, navigation system, and a holiday for a month in cape Town. and that myself and my partner must come collect it at 17:00 today in kyalami park. His phone kept cutting off but he was persistant to keep calling back, and then said they were having electricity problems, but he's calling from a cell phone? the scary thing was that he got my occupation right, but then he said "you are older than 26 right", which I'm not, and he said the competition form says that, I'm 27 So then I thought my bf entered me into this competition. And then he wanted to know if either me or my bf have a cheque account or credit card, and if we are married or living together.Anyway I said I had another function and he said that's fine I can come tomorrow so i told him maybe I can make it before the function can he call in half an hour. He called back half an hour later and I said I was coming. so then he asked for my surname, and then I said what kind of competition doesn't have my surname.Then I asked him where did I fill in the competition form,he said maybe at a shopping mall, or via sms or a service station, so I said "how can you not know what competition it was" Then I even asked him if this is a scam and how do I know it is not, and will I get the prizes. He told me the prizes are guranteed I have just got to come and collect it, and then he even said it is not SCAM that wooUd be false advertising. Then he said it's ok I can forfeit the prize because I sound very sceptical and not as excited as the other winners, so I said no I'm coming just give me the address and the prize number. I even got given a prize number. then he told me I must lie and say I am 27 and my partner is 28, and that we earn over R20000, and we hve a cheque account. 	NAS- Thank goodness for Internet. I have smsed Gift and told him to remove me off their data base. It is illegal to solicit business via the cell phone. I am not saying timeshare is bad, i have many with a different company. And have never looked back. It is awesome once it is paid off. Holiday anytime you want at no cost except the annual admin fees. But if you seach the web i am sure you will be able to purchase someone else's much cheaper than what is currently offered by this company. Make sure the place is affilated to RCI or even QVC. Gerida Booyens	NAS: New Age Solutions: SCAM - Thank you to all for the warning!- Hi guys On Sunday (25 October 2009) outside Fruit and Veg in Atterbury (Pretoria) me and my husband was confronted by a person who said that I only needed to fill in a small piece of paper with my contact details and name/surname. Of course I did - because the prizes sounded awesome. 1. Plasma TV 2. Homemakeover 3. Paid holiday. Suprise suprise - I got a phone call from Gift (0781083994) who claims that I have won ONE of these prizes. I only had to attend 1 of THREE sessions - it will not take me more than 30 minutes, and then I can collect my prize. He stated the address to be: 87 Silverstone Crescent, Kyalami Park. Something just did not sound right. I Google'd NAS and came upon this site. Wow - thank you SO much to all that has posted your experiences. Unfortunately for Gift, he is not aware that I am NOT giving up that easy. I phoned him back, telling him to sit down, and to listen - to listen VERY carefully. I told him about ALL the negative posts on the internet, and I quoted the following from the Consumer Protection Act: " It also bans informing consumers they have won a prize when no competition has been conducted, or they have never entered a competition, or making the prize subject to a previously undisclosed condition payment of any consideration, whether for participating in the competition or for the prize itself." Gift kept on interupting me, but I was not going to give up. I eventually got him to keep quiet (not that I think it would have made any difference). Course of action: I am going to report New Age Solutions to the Consumer Ombudsman, and I will post a HUGE warning on the "HelloPeter" website. The time has come that we need to stand up to these guys. They are getting away with murder. We need to have all our ducks in a row before the Consumer Protection Act will come into act in October 2010. PLEASE don't fall for this scam!! W	INVITATION TO NEW AGE SOLUTIONS PRESENTATION- Have just received a call from Elias @ N.A.S - to inform me I had won one of several prizes including a Plasma T.V - a holiday or a kitchen makeover to the value of R75,000. I had sent of a competition response to competitions advertised on DSTV listed under competitions - it appears they may be tied in to MTN ?! - I was assured it was not time share related and I would not need to complete any questionaires or surveys' - I would just need to present myself together with my partner at Kyalami Business Park - 87 Silverstone Crescent - his phone went off whenever I asked an uncomfortable question - i.e. who the directors were? - I was told it was a consortiium - when I asked who the M.D. was he again put the phone down and has not phoned back - thanks you for the warning ! Jerry	DEJAVU RHINO/NAS/PBS- They are still at it as at 9 Nov 2009. The story is similar. They phoned my wife, who never enters "competitions". She phoned me. Since I was a toddler more than six decades ago I discovered that if something is too good to be true it is either not good, or not true, or both, so just to confirm I googled. "Congratulations, you won one of five prized ... market research survey ... come with your husband to 87A Silverstone Crescent, Kyalami Business Park" etc. The call was from "Lerato". Mymmy	NAS Price Giving- I was contacted by Tracey who contacted my partner for a price giving on a competition that he entered at the shopping malls. First of all there is no where were we don't go together. This is not true as i questioned and she even emphased that there is no way you can walk away with no price. This is maybe a promotions or presentation on making business.I got a fax with the directions for tomorrow. This is not the first time. Gauzene	i am on to this lady- Got a call from this number (031) 538 0300, and i am busy with the investigation. Now i have the place where the number is coming from and soon they will be unveiled. this people trace your number and they can get into your account number via your phone through cell-phone banking and they start deducting your money from your account. if you receive this call from this number, report the number to the police. just know that soon we will nail this person. we are working on it just the matter of time. we have all information about these people. 	Carte Blanche- Is there no way that we can take this to court or Cartè Blanche ? This is so annoying!! I have been called for the 100th time today offering me the 42" Plasma and R75 000 home make over etc. They say that they have on record that I stay not to far from the Kyalami area. Were the hell do they get that from. I stay in George, and I have never stayed in JHB before. Is this not some sort of invasion of privacy? I have never filled in any sort of pamphlet or competition, so how did they get my name and number? This has been going on now since May last year, every couple of days I get a call with the same B.S. If no body does anything about this then it will never stop. Argh!! Jan	Research performed into the NAS scam- My girlfriend recieved the same e-mail (from NAS - this time) so I decided to research the scam. Firstly, the specific competition, entered, cannot be identified (and Engen is not aware of running any such competition); Secondly, the business address provided, is in fact for a company called Plasmaview Technologies. This is a legitimate company; however, they do not have anything to do with the 'competition' as they specialise in supplying televisions and presentation equipment for functions. This company is also part of a 'watchdog' group with the aim of addressing fraudulent activities relating to events and functions. I say it again, they do not have any part in running this scam. Personally, I would advise not phoning the persons involved, or giving them any attention. This scam is merely another marketing ploy to sell time-share. (As if forcing it down our throats was not enough). The NAS company can not be found on the internet, and I could not obtain any information, other than the congratulations letter. Banz	Can't believe I even considered this!!- In fact my bro had the call and they refered to him as me...SHADY number 1!!!! and this is 26/1109..so it's still going! his number 078 108 3994...also he sounded like he was on the road--criminals!!! Gift, gift gift gift.....shame....I actuallyshould give hime the web addres and he must check how famous he is is and his buddies, including the company he is working for!!! 	Scam- Same thing happened with me today. Got phoned by Linda. Apparently I won a R75 000 home make over, GPS, R1000 spending money and a 42" tv. She said I won a Pick n Pay competition at the Southdowns store in Centurion. My girlfriend did enter some competition there about 12 months ago, so I thought it could be legit. I just called my best friend to accompany me there tomorrow like 10 minutes ago. I'm still at the office so i decided to Google 'New Age Solutions'. MB	NAS- A guy called Adnil (078 804 7064) called me on Monday, he kept me on the line for a long time telling me about the competition and the 5 prizes; he also gave me a reference number for access into their premises. The call got cut off, I didn't hear back from him. He called me 5 times on Thursday from a different number (073 412 9972) & told me I'd missed the draw but could have another chance on Saturday at 12 at their offices in Kyalami. What made me suspicious was when he "confirmed" my work number - I left that job 3 years ago. These guys need to be exposed. He was also from NAS, and gave the same address with a ref. number (87 Silverstone, Crescent Rd, Kyalami Office Park). I told him I'm not interested and he asked me why am I uncomfortable. He also said that "I should consider myself lucky." I must come today at 14:30 / 16:30 or 18:30 with my partner, or tomorrow. I said I'll go tomorrow. Thokozani	Francis says I am a winner- I got an SMS on 02 Feb 2010, but just called them this morning. A guy whispering into the line said: "We are in a meeting right now, can we call you back shortly?" I gave them my details. F@ck, I feel stupid, but it all happened so fast. The first questions to ask are how did you get my number and what did I win and how did I win it? I called again and the guy answered my call (I thought you were in a meeting buddy!). I mustered an attitude to get him to answer my questions. This is all I got before he abruptly told me that they were in a meeting and that they would call me back: he said he got my name from a survey and that they are called Target Alliance Group (mmhh?), and that they would call me back. I'll tell him to remove my name from their databases and never to communicate with me again. I checked out a website in their name and there is nothing there. sony	Same story- I got a phone call this morning from a private number on my cell phone from a guy (I cant even remember his name) who told me the same story, that he is from NAS and that i have definitely won one of 5 prizes. home makeover worth 75000, 42" plasma blah blah blah, when i asked him what competition this is, he just replied that it was a survey that i entered and only 150 participated in this survey and that my name was randomly drawn as a winner. he confirmed that i am over 29 (Which im not, im 24) and that im married (which im not), he tole me to be there at 87 silverstone crescent kyalami business park at either 16:30 or 18:30. Fortunately when i asked my friend about our whereabouts at that time, he said that we were not even close to a mall or anything at that time. Linda	Too many to count!- There are many of these companies that are pulling this stunt. They're all selling some sort of timeshare or holiday plan that requires you to pay a lump sum up front and never pay again....come on now...what about inflation and actual cost of the holiday? So anyway, at the end of the holiday video presentation, you have a one on one session with a consultant...then you are taken to some room with the prize and a pic of u is taken for the records. I was a definite winner etc. I received a CONGRATULATIONS fax giving me directions, but it was not even my name on the form. These people should be shut down!! Tash	NAS SCAM- I just got a call right now from an african lady. Said she's calling from a company called NAS... I go, whats that? She says New Age Solutions. She went on to inform me that I had won a competition in Midrand somewhere, however she could not tell me what competition i had entered. I asked her if this was a scam and she said NO. The prizes were a car for 75k, plasma tv's....yada yada yada. Thats when i started to zone out as this was dejavu. Got a call bout two years ago.... same song, same scam.... These unsrupulous ppl dupe you into coming to "collect your Prize" only to seat you for a long laborious presentation about timeshare. You are thereafter escorted to a room with multiple tables where a person is assigned to you to sell you timeshare. Thereafter taken to do a draw for the wonderful prizes they had told you, you had won, which would be a 3 day getaway in another province. So, I told this lady that this was a scam as the same thing had happened to me two yrs earlier and she again LIED that it was NOT A SCAM. I humoured her, said i would come through to KYALAMI to collect my prize (I obviously had no intention of doing so) and gave her my fax number to fax me the directions. 	NAS- Yip they are surely at it again. Got a call now with the 75k or plasma (which is off the market or just about) or they weekend in the mother city. To cut them off quick tell them you did not complete or entered any competition and ask them where they got your number from. They quickly make an excuse to put the phone down. Suzie	SCAM!!!!- I also got a call yesterday from Neslon at NAS, he said I was a guaranteed winner of any of the 5 prizes he listed. I said to him is this a timeshare scam and he assured me not. I made it off as rubbish. I then received the second call today to assure me I could take them to lawyers if I do not win. I asked them to fax me a letter to state the details, then decided to do some investigation on the internet. These people should be reported. Lou	They won't leave me alone!- Over the past 4 months they have been calling me twice a day. I started of saying I can't make it and I am not interested. They persisted in calling me! They call from a private number and due to my job I am forced to answer these... I eventually told them I would go just so they will leave me alone. Did not go and they called again. I told them again that I will come! This happened six times and they still calling me! Currently I am just slamming the phone down when they call, but they still continue to call me twice a day. jakes	Are these people idiots....- Just got a call (on my work landline number, which i do not give out to any one, due to a company cellphone) from Elias, stating that I won a prize for entering at some engen garage. 42 plasma / R75K home make over / trip to cape town worth R25K. Asked him if there is a catch, and said he obviously said no. So I googled the company name while on the phone with him, and then he started asking me more personal details, where i work, live age etc. I told him that I do not feel comfortable giving out these info over the phone, so if he gives me his tel number, I will call him back. 011 466 9918. Also at the above mentioned address. What alarmed me was the fact that I have to come with my spouse to collect the prize, and have to come at a specific time. Cindy	I used to work there- I actually used to work for NAS and I must tell you, these people are making money by claiming to have prizes for you to win. I was excited when i got this job, only to realise that we had to call people and lie to them. The directors of the whole thing where rough and failure to get anyone to buy timeshare would result in not getting paid. These people are hungry for money and they will go to extreme lengths just to get it. There was a lot a lot of racism at the company and we the call center agents were treated as if we were dogs and not humans. They used to want to instill fear in us. I left the company after working for only a week because I was not prepared lie to people so as to make a living. What kind of person can tell blatant lies on a daily basis? When i asked him about his company website he told that they are still under construction. if these guys can't even maintain a mere website how can they afford all these things they are claiming to be giving...
