Where are the companies getting cell numbers from to send sms ads?

As a girl, is getting an ad for Teasers simply bad buying? I received this sms yesterday:

We go further 2 get you closer to our dancers. TEASERS branches nationwide up close, inspect us now! Call 084 TEASERS for visual viagra. Midrand now open. Awesome.

Surely as a 30 year old female, this is majorly inappropriate? Or do they think I am so desperate being single that I should give them a bash?
