Will advertising a restaurant on a billboard make financial sense ?

Looking at cost-effective ways to advertise a restaurant. Hence the question - is a billboard cost-effective?
With the cost of advertising being so high I am looking at media that will bring in the best bang for the buck.

    Hi Sunil

Billboards are costly my friend, and they are great if you have a nice big budget.

Also, they serve the purpose of awareness. In other words, people who see it may now know about your Restaurant, however that doesn't mean they'll beat a path to your door.

Another thing, you can't really put much on a billboard and if it doesn't attract any attention, it's money down the drain.

There are many things you can do on a smaller budget and I wouldn't advise you spend it on a billboard just yet. Posted on 14 Oct 2011 12:49

Your best investment is a keyword targeted domain...get that developed to showcase your restaurant. It'll generate organic traffic that is long term and targeted to your business. Add a squeeze page to build a mailing list and blog about your business on a regular basis. Posted on 24 Oct 2011 08:45

Your strategy should be based on what type of restuarant you are trying to advertise. not on what food they prepare but rather on the feel. Is it suave or family based.

Research insights and see what other successfull business are doing that fall in the same category as the business your advertising.

Dont follow their every move but be creative and understand what direction (platform) they are pumping most of their finance into for best ROI. Posted on 1 Feb 2012 16:05
