Cannes Young Lions festival more accessible

Modifications to Cannes Young Lions will see the 2016 Festival bigger and better than before, with an added incentive for South African creatives to enter for a once in a lifetime experience.
Cannes Young Lions festival more accessible

One Young Lions Classic Pass will grant access to the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity for the full eight days, from 18 to 25 June, for all delegates under the age of 30 years. This will include full access to the Palais for all Talks, the exhibition of the work, awards ceremonies, screenings, networking spaces and the Young Lions Party. The Young Lions Classic Pass will cost €1,850 (R28,412 at current exchange rates).

Cannes Young Lions is also introducing a Young Lions Classic Competitor Pass, which will grant access for all the Young Lion Competitors for the eight days of the Cannes Young Lions Festival of Creativity. The Competitor Pass includes the same access as a Young Lions Classic, including full access to the Palais for all Talks and other events listed above. The Young Lions Classic Competitor Pass will cost €1,295 (R19,890 at current exchange rates).

The ages limit for competitors will also be raised to 30, making the Young Lions Competitions eligible to anyone born after 25 June 1985, across all of the categories.

What these changes mean is that those contestants who have their competitions scheduled for later in the week will no longer have to pay more than those earlier in the week and those contestants scheduled earlier in the week will be able to enjoy the full Festival experience.

"These revisions make Cannes Young Lions more inclusive of young brand communications professionals. We hope to see more South Africans visiting the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity in 2016 as delegates. In addition, we hope that the Cinemark Young Lions competition, the local leg of the competition that qualifies a team of two professionals, will attract an even greater number of entries. This is an opportunity of a lifetime, affording young brand communications professionals unmatched career development by participating in a global competition and receiving education from global industry legends," says Tshireletso Yvonne Diogo, Marketing Manager & Account Executive: Media Sales Cinemark.
