Oasys Innovations supports the International Destination 2009 exhibition

The American Society of Travel Agents' (ASTA) conference “Excel in the growing South African market” is taking place at Sun City next week. The Association represents travel agents from across the globe, as well as the many companies who supply the industry, such as tour companies, cruise operators, hotels and conference venues. Representing the industry for over 75 years, the Association is hosting the conference to educate their members about South Africa and the many tourist attractions our country has to offer.

Says Oasys Business Development Manager Andrew Gibbs: “Oasys Innovations is the sole infrastructure supplier to the International Destination Expo. This weekend, six vehicles of equipment and infrastructure will travel to Sun City to begin building the exhibition. Sixty staff members will be involved each day, in preparing the venue, delivering the infrastructure and building the exhibition over the course of the next three days. They will, in turn, be supervised by nine managers, on hand to deal with any client queries or concerns.“

Oasys has designed and built all but three of the stands at the exhibition and Gibbs has co-ordinated and managed each aspect of the project. “There will also be international participation at the exhibition, with a stand designed and built for Namibia. In addition we have designed and built a stand for Turkey, who will be the host for next year's International Destination Exhibition. The 2010 conference will be held in Turkey, and their stand is designed to pique visitor interest for next year.”

Gibbs concludes: “The sheer volume of the exhibition and the infrastructure to be supplied has offered Oasys a unique opportunity to demonstrate our competence as a company and will help showcase South Africa as a destination of choice for market leaders.”
