"We are very excited about this partnership and extremely optimistic about its future success," said Cavi Brands CEO, Michael ten Hope.

"OPI is a world leading, iconic brand in the nail care industry, making it a perfect fit for Cavi Brands, which strives to be a leader in the branded beauty, wellness and lifestyle sectors in southern Africa. Cavi Brands has a strong track record of developing and growing iconic brands in our markets."

Cavi Brands owns and distributes a selection of global luxury beauty brands in southern Africa. The company has four subsidiaries; Dermalogica, The Prestige Cosmetics Group, Incolabs and Omegalabs, each of which operates independently by focusing on specific brands within specific categories.

OPI will be housed within The Prestige Cosmetics Group; South Africa's leading distributor of fine fragrances, cosmetics and specialised skincare, comprising 16 brands including Chanel, Bulgari, Burberry Fragrances, Elemis, Elie Saab, La Prairie and Hermes amongst others. It will also receive implementation oversight from sister company Dermalogica, given this brand's experience in the professional beauty sector.

OPI is renowned for its high-quality, long-wearing, chip-resistant polish, as well as its ever-expanding range of high-fashion colours boasting names like Aphrodites Pink Nightie, Fifty Shades of Grey and Pineapples have Peelings Too. The brand is distributed in over 100 countries around the world, offering a full line of professional nail care products including treatments, finishing products, lotions, manicure and pedicure products, files, tools and acrylics.

"We believe that the OPI brand has enormous potential in South Africa and we are deeply committed to revitalising and re-invigorating the brand, by not only improving service levels and placing a renewed focus on the professional channel, but also ensuring that the brand is affordably priced for the South African market," said Ten Hope.
