Taste H1 diluted HEPS down 38%

Taste (TAS) diluted headline earnings per share down 38% to 3.4c for the six months ended August 2014‚ the company said on Thursday, 9 October 2014.

Taste is a South Africa-based management group‚ which is invested in a portfolio of mostly franchised quick-service restaurant and retail brands such as Domino's Pizza‚ Maxi's and Scooters Pizza.

Core revenue increased by 15% to R302.2m‚ while core headline earnings decreased by R1.1m to R8.8m‚ the company said.

The company secured exclusive master franchise rights for Domino's Pizza and R180m was raised from shareholders for future growth by way of a rights offer‚ it said.

No interim dividend was declared as the group only pays a final dividend.

Taste said it had entered into negotiations in respect of a possible acquisition which‚ if successfully concluded‚ may have a material effect on the price of the company's securities.
