BBA boosts subscribers for Multichoice Malawi

Sales and marketing manager for the company, Chimwemwe Nyirenda, said from an active subscription base of 18,000 at the end of August 2009 the figures are now hovering around 24,000.

He, however, said besides the BBA attraction, as a company they had also introduced incentives that attracted a number of people.

“We had enough complete DStv sets and decoders which were sold at a reduced price of K21,900 for a complete DStv set and K14,900 for decoders only. We also opened subscription pay points across the country through NBS Bank, First Merchant Bank (FMB) and National Bank of Malawi and this made it easy for customers to pay subscription in their own areas,” explained Nyirenda.

BBA, the continent's highly thriving reality television show started beaming on 6 September 2009 and already even when the 91-day-long show is at its beginning, many viewers have scrambled for it and many more are expected to follow suit.
