Update on SABC TV programming during week of mourning

12 Dec 2013 10:45
The recent passing of former president Nelson Mandela has necessitated changes to regular programming on SABC television stations.
The country's popular soapies, Generations and Muvhango will be broadcast on SABC1 for the remainder of the week at 8pm and 8.30pm respectively, while 7de Laan (6.30pm) and Isidingo (7.30pm) will be broadcast on SABC 3.

Top Billing will also broadcast a special episode on Thursday from 9.30pm paying tribute to Tata Madiba.

Commented Zandile Nkonyeni, head of PR: SABC TV Channels, "The passing of our iconic founding father has necessitated these changes as we strive to bring round the clock coverage of this great man to millions of viewers countrywide. Our viewers can still catch their favourite shows on our sister channels during this time and we will make an announcement once everything goes back to normal."

Broadcast details of Madiba's funeral are yet to be finalised and will be announced closer to the time.
