Bakkie, Cars in Action smash own records in latest ABC

Action Publications is delighted at the performance of its Cars in Action and Bakkie magazines in the January to March 2004 Audit Bureau of Circulation report just published.

While Cars in Action streaked to a new record of 14 180 single copies sold in the period – an increase of 21% over the period July to December, Bakkie enjoyed a massive surge to shoot from 5 192 sales in the previous period to 10 403 copies sold in the past three months...

Publisher Michele Lupini is totally satisfied with progress. "We have worked extremely hard on both titles in recent months and it's beginning to pay dividends," Lupini said.

Cars in Action incorporating Motorsport Africa and Used Car benefited a brilliant holiday issue, which was a sell-out success, while strong sales also continued into the New Year.

Bakkie, which really performed well, also benefited a strong holiday issue highlighted by the first Best Bakkie competition dominating the cover. But the arrival of Truck Action published back-to-back with Bakkie has also brought added benefits to the title, in that it offers reders the only heavy vehicle title available on the bookshelves in South Africa.

Together, Cars in Action and Bakkie together are rapidly becoming the hot ticket in SA motoring media and Publisher Lupini is confident that this is only the beginning: "We're now working flat out on distribution and with a little luck, the market will respond to our recent successes and we will be able to produce and manage increased volumes and grow our circulation even further..."
