Europe*Star beams Mandela's Aids concert to the world

The SABC has used Europe*Star 1 for local distribution of the three-hour televised concert. A second feed on the same satellite will be simultaneously sent to Europe for a webcast that will be accessible live and available for 90 days after the event. GlobeCast Africa has sponsored the uplink and downlink costs.

Roy Ingle, Europe*Star's regional director for Africa said: "It is an honour to be able to join the organisations contributing to such a worthwhile cause. Last year's broadcast of the 46664 concert was a success and we are pleased to be able to repeat it this year."
