The Mail & Guardian is calling for the public to nominate individuals who are the cream of South Africa's information and communication technology crop for its new publication Digerati: everyone you need to know in SA technology, to be launched early in 2009.
Comments Phillip de Wet, editor of the new publication, “Based on the success of the Book of South African Women, the M&G is launching "Digerati" in 2009. It will be both a listing of the most important individuals in the field and a preview of what lies ahead in every important area within the technology sector. Add a listing of important resources (websites, events, books) and it will be an indispensable guide.”
To nominate somebody, email before 7 November 2008 with the following information:
Your name, e-mail address and daytime telephone number
The name, e-mail address and daytime telephone number of your nominee
The title, company and business sector of your nominee
In 100 words or less, tell us what your nominee does and why your nominee is a cut above the rest
In 100 words or less, tell us what your nominee can do for the readers of Digerati
Self-nominations also accepted.
According to De Wet, Digerati will reach a minimum of 10 000 of the most influential people in South Africa through distribution to Mail & Guardian subscribers and key individuals. There will also be an online version.
