The 127-year-old National Geographic has given Murdoch's 21st Century Fox a 73% stake.
Some were surprised at the move, reports BoingBoing.Net, as Murdoch is a climate change denier and his family is often punted as misinformants about global warming.
Sceptics unleashed their views on Twitter, of course:

Here's hoping the up-to-now not-for-profit and its assets, now dubbed 'National Geographic Partners', benefits from the $725m deal announced with Murdoch's 21st Century Fox.
Especially as Star reports they're hoping the additional resources "will enable the National Geographic society to basically double its investment in science, research and education programs"...
