Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University hosts Loeries Exhibition
"The exhibition assists in highlighting brand communication, design and advertising as viable and rewarding career opportunities to the public, scholars and students," says Inge Economou, lecturer and programme leader of graphic design from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
Inspire and educate
The exhibition adds value to all students, businesses and professionals within the brand communications fields, with the aim to inspire and educate. It is also a great opportunity for learners to understand the career opportunities available in the brand communication industry, across a wide array of disciplines, including brand identity, architecture & interior design, package & publication design, motion graphic design, direct marketing, PR Communication, non-broadcast video, live events, sponsorship, digital communication and integrated campaigns.
"The university is looking forward to hosting the exhibition as it provides opportunities for Nelson Mandela Bay creatives - scholars, students, professionals and enthusiasts - to review the very best that the South African creative industry has to offer, across a range of brand communication disciplines, including design, advertising and illustration. The exhibition is a valuable educational tool. Winning a Loerie award is an aspiration for South African creatives. Students are particularly inspired by this annual displaying of talent and use it as a benchmark for their own work," concludes Economou.
From Port Elizabeth, the exhibition will move to Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria from 25-29 August.
