French artist Antoine Tempé on exhibition at Gautrain stations

As part of the France-South Africa Seasons 2012 & 2013 and the current Danse l'Afrique danse, French artist Antoine Tempé is on exhibition at Park, Rosebank, Sandton, Midrand and Hatfield Gautrain stations. His exhibition of portraits and photographs celebrates performances by the greatest African and Afro-American contemporary dancers.

The exhibition, produced by the Zinsou Foundation, Benin, in 2010, has been brightening the day of Gautrain commuters since late September 2012 and has provided a perfect opportunity for passengers to pass time while waiting for the next train, or queuing for tickets. The photographs will be displayed until Friday 12 October 2012.

Apart from the displays at Gautrain Stations, his work is also being presented in Newtown, around the Dance Factory and in Soweto around the Soweto Theatre.

The France-South Africa Seasons 2012 & 2013 is an initiative conceived and facilitated by the governments of the two countries to give the people of France and South Africa an opportunity to understand each other better through cultural, scientific, sport, education and business engagement, and comprises more than 100 exhibitions, performances, film screenings, literary events, workshops, conferences and round tables. The French season in South Africa runs from June to November 2012, while the South African season in France will take place from May to December 2013.
