Debut of cultural district brochure

The first annual Newtown Brochure - published and project managed on behalf of the Newtown Management District (NMD) by Blue Planet Media - is now available, focusing on the potpourri of cultural, educational and tourist attractions in Newtown, Johannesburg, ranging from museums, art galleries, restaurants, theatre, dance and live music.

“Newtown is undoubtedly one of the main local and international tourist hubs of Gauteng,” says Kate Shand, marketing manager of the NMD. “The brochure is an integral part of our commitment to ensuring all visitors have an exceptional and unforgettable experience, and as such serves as an invaluable item to them.

“We are indeed thrilled to have received such wonderful support from advertisers, which itself is indicative, and an endorsement of, the significance of Newtown to the overall visitor market.”

The precinct hosts a multitude of events, highlights which include Joburg Arts Alive, Joy of Jazz Festival, Gauteng and Joburg Carnivals, Africa Day, Joburg's New Year's Eve party, Newtown Diwali Festival and Newtown Celebrates Women's Day weekend festival, Newtown is a kaleidoscope of South African energy and talent at work.

The publication's distribution includes: Gauteng Tourism Association and all its information kiosks, Johannesburg Tourism Company, City of Johannesburg, tour operators, all businesses in the immediate Newtown area, OR Tambo International arrivals hall, information kiosks at major shopping centres such as Rosebank and Sandton, major hotels in Braamfontein, Johannesburg CBD, Rosebank and Sandton.
