Following its appointment in 2007 to work on the Moneygram account in 10 countries on the continent, Draftfcb Africa, the Draftfcb network of agencies on the African continent, has been awarded the account in a further five.

The appointment, which includes strategy and implementation for all advertising and marketing activity, sees Draftfcb Africa working on the account in Kenya, Liberia, Namibia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone in addition to Botswana, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

In addition, Draftfcb Cape Town produced an animated TV commercial in four languages – English, French, German and Dutch – for MoneyGram specifically for flighting on Europsport in the UK and Europe during the CAF tournament in Ghana.

Other new business for the network this year includes being awarded the SC Johnson account for Angola, Mauritius, Mozambique, DRC, Zambia, Malawi, East Africa (Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania). The network already handles the account in Ghana and Nigeria.

In the Ivory Coast, the network has also won the below-the-line and strategy account for the UBA (United Bank of Africa) thanks to a superb strategy developed by agency head, Sandrine Roland, and her team. Not to be out done, the Mozambique agency has been awarded significant point-of-sale business for Coca Cola.
