Mindy Brooks, former editor of Bead & Button magazine in the US, has agreed to be the patron of Beadex, South Africa's first international beading and jewellery exhibition. "Beading and jewellery making are two of the hottest trends in crafts the world over," she says, "and in the past few years I've seen that passion take hold in South Africa." Organised by the Thebe Exhibitions and Events Group, Beadex will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre, 11 - 13 May 2007.
