Winning young design talent
Jade Walters has taken first prize for her fabric design entitled ‘Inspirations’ in the Sanlam Young South African Thinking Ahead competition, themed Fabric. Form. Function, held in association with Visi at Decorex Cape. Second was Justin Gomes-Luis from Boston House College with Shaggy Cosmos, and third was a tie between Jane Solomon and Jann Cheifitz of Fabric Nation with African Royale and Nosipho Nobulali Mfengwana of Vukanii Bafazi Screen Printing with Jungle Oats, both of the Cape Craft and Design Institute. Decorex JHB hosts the final leg of the 2007 challenge.
