The South African Film and Television Awards judging phase began last week with the filtration phase, in which the judges “filter” through all entries per award section to a maximum of 10 and a minimum of three entries that then go through to the final judging phase set for October 2008. From the over 180 production title entries, over 80 awards will be presented for the following categories: Feature films, Documentary, Student and Short films as well as TV Dramas, Soapies, Comedies, Reality, Gameshows, Wildlife shows, Talk shows, Magazine shows and News and Actuality Programmes. Nominations for new award Best Newcomer close on 31 October 2008.
