Bongani Mdakane specialises in advising clients on media strategy, crisis management, government relations and building in-house communications structures. He spent a decade in South Africa's mainstream newspapers such as The Star, City Press, Daily Sun, Sunday Sun, Sunday Times and Sunday World as a senior journalist. Bongani was also a newsreader for Channel Islam International Radio in 2004, and he was also one of the students who established the youth radio station, Afrika Shine FM in 2003.
