His first film "A Fisherman's Tale " was then financed by NFVF South Africa, and went into production. Two years later it was described as a "sterling directorial debut", and won a Jury Special Mention for Documentary at the Apollo International Film Festival. A Fisherman's Tale (2004) "reminds me of the art of Picasso and Diego Riviera, who had used their art to animate the condition of the working people and their dignity" - Professor Ben Turok, Independent Newspaper.

The Directors most recent documentary film "The Last Voyage" won the Silver Dhow for Documentary film at the 2011 Zanzibar International Film Festival. The Encounters International Film Festival carried these views about the film "...with the director-filmmaker at the very heart of the story. this proximity lends "The Last Voyage" an arestingly uninhibited quality, where traditional barriers of documentary film making are dismantled.."

2011 also saw the completion of the trailer for a feature length documentary titled "The Devil's lair"
(vimeo.com/27683964). It was the only South African film that received a PUMA.Creative Catalyst Award. The award was used to officially launch the Puma film fund. The film explores the impact of a failed system of prisoner rehabilitation and integration have on communities in South Africa. The film is set to go into production from March 2012, after a successful GOODPITCH2 held in Johannesburg, South Africa earlier this year.

"Cocaine, Suicide and the meaning of life" is a 48 minute documentary to be screened in South Africa in 2012. Its the story of a former cocaine addicts and his struggle to rebuilt his life. The

Having produced, directed and edited more than 20 films, his work is celebrated for constantly pushing the boundaries of the documentary genre. Drawn to observational cinema, his themes pendulums between being personal and very political.
